Fresh quinoa salad for the parrots today

quinoa salad
Tri-colored quinoa, carrots, zucchini, yellow squash, cucumber, tomato, parsley, beet greens, kale, poblano pepper, orange bell pepper, fresh ginger root, sesame and chia seed. All raw veggies, only the quinoa was cooked, and that was only because I didn’t have any sprouted today.

Thank you for another awesome post!!! We’re bringing home our M2 from the sanctuary tomorrow! I’m making my first batch of chop now, thanks to you!!! Can I ask you a chop question, please? Do you put fruit and legumes in the chop before you freeze it or the day of? Thanks so much!!!

  2. Hi Stacey,
How wonderful to hear that you’re adopting, yay, good for you! ❀ I have a rehomed U2 who is my absolute pride and joy. Everyone does their chop differently, so try different ways each time to see how you and your birds like it. I don't add any fruit to it before freezing, but I may add some chopped berries at serving time. Fruit will get mushy and watery in your chop if you freeze, then thaw it. I do freeze my legumes though.
    Happy chopping. πŸ™‚

Thank you so much for the reply! Yes, we’re so excited to bring him home. I’ve been volunteering at the sanctuary for about 2 years now and this very sweet, very plucked M2 stole my heart. I’ve been working with him for over a year now and can’t imagine not having him in my life.

I’m very, very happy that I found your blog! Thanks for taking the time…
